If Opera 2027
We will return to Church Farm, Wingfield in August for our 2027 season to bring more exceptional opera and live music to these bucolic gardens.
Set to the backdrop of the Westbury White Horse, this rural idyll boasts an ancient farmhouse and the exquisite, fourteenth century parish church of St Mary which are surrounded by a peaceful churchyard, picturesque gardens, duckpond and sometime farmyard, complete with resident donkeys, Jimmy and Teddy!
Secluded and tranquil, these bucolic gardens will also once again offer plenty of picturesque picnic spots as well as hosting our Saddlespan Auditorium, Pop-up Bar, Patron’s Lawn and Picnic Canopy alongside our sell-out restaurant, The Cowshed by Homewood, and Taittinger Bar.
The Cowshed by Homewood
The experience begins with a welcome glass of Champagne, followed by generous sharing platters, brimming with hand-selected produce that showcase the best of Somerset. As the evening unfolds, the Somerset grill takes over, expertly flame-searing and smoking locally sourced meats to perfection, enhancing their rich, natural flavours.
Small plates take inspiration from Homewood’s very own No-Dig Kitchen Garden, bringing vibrant, homegrown ingredients to the table. To elevate every bite, a carefully curated selection of wines from distinguished partners will be available to purchase and offer the perfect pairing, ensuring a truly unforgettable dining experience under the open sky.

The Green, Wingfield
This unique country house with guest rooms set in seven acres of garden and woodland is located directly opposite the entrance to our venue, Church Farm.
Imagine yourself as a private guest in a country house in the nineteenth century but with the modern comforts and the professionalism of your favourite place to stay. With only five bedrooms, The Green offers a peaceful stay in rooms furnished with antiques and original artwork. A delicious a la carte breakfast made from local produce is included.

Terms & Conditions
Competition open until midnight on Sunday 23 August 2026. Entrants must be over 18. One entry per email address. The prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative is available. The winner will be notified via email by Friday 11 September 2026.
If Opera 2027 season dates and repertoire for August 2027 are to be confirmed, the winner will be advised by a member of the If Opera team as soon as they are available to make their performance selection.
The dinner at The Cowshed by Homewood must be taken on the same night as the performance. The prize includes one glass of Champagne each for the winner and their guest on arrival and a three-course dinner with menu selections to be made in advance.
The overnight stay at The Green is one night for two guests, sharing one room on a bed and breakfast basis and is subject to availability. This one-night stay can be redeemed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Stays for a Friday or Saturday night require a two-night minimum booking, to redeem the prize on a Friday or Saturday an additional night must be purchased when arranging your stay with The Green. Check in is not available at The Green on a Monday or Sunday. If suitable dates are not available during the season week, alternative dates can be requested and will be fulfilled subject to availability.
