What you need to know to plan your visit to If Opera – including ticket policies, event timings, how to find us, what to wear and what happens if it rains…
TICKETS
General booking will open at 10am on Thursday 19 March 2026.
All tickets are non-refundable.
All transactions are subject to a booking fee of £1.50 PER ORDER, whether made in person at Bath Box Office, by post, telephone or online, regardless of how many tickets are booked.
If booked online, you will receive an email from Bath Box Office confirming your booking and your e-ticket details within minutes of your booking being made. Please check your spam/junk folders if these don’t arrive in your inbox
There is the option to have your tickets posted to you at a charge of £2.00. Please contact Bath Box Office in the event that tickets posted are not received.
Tickets may be returned to the box office to be re-sold. This service can only be offered if an event is sold out and is at the discretion of Bath Box Office (£2 fee).
Please note any transaction, booking or postage fees are always non-refundable.
HOW TO FIND US
Wherever possible, we urge you to use public transport or car share to reduce the traffic pressure on this historic town.
There are good rail and bus links to Bradford on Avon and a taxi service, Bradford on Avon Taxis, is located at the railway station for the onward journey.

EVENT TIMINGS
The Church Farm gardens open at 4.30pm for Carmen, The Chocolate Soldier and Baroque Drinking Songs productions, giving you a generous two and a half hours to enjoy the gardens before the performance begins.
Gardens open at 10am for the Baroque Masterclass & Concert, half an hour before the masterclass.
Gardens open at 4.30pm for the Picnic Prom, two hours before the main bands, and garden music starts half an hour after entry at 5.00pm.
Gardens are open 12pm - 5pm for the Family Fiesta Day with activities taking place throughout the day.
If you are late to a performance, we will endeavour to admit you at a suitable point in the production if you make yourself known to the front of house team.
REFRESHMENTS / FOOD & DRINK
Tables can be pre-booked at our new restaurant, The Cowshed by Homewood when general booking opens on 19 March 2026. Guests with a restaurant table booking will also gain access to the Taittinger Champagne Bar.
Drinks will also be available to purchase from the pop-up bar at all events.
Guests can also bring their own food and drink to picnic in the gardens if they wish.
Pre-booked seating in a covered picnic area, The Picnic Canopy, is also available to allow guests to enjoy picnicking whatever the weather. Picnicking details can be viewed here.
WEATHER
2026 performances at Church Farm will take place in a closed (fully covered) Saddlespan auditorium and St Mary’s Church.
Events will go ahead in the rain, however if the weather is torrential, If Opera reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event. Bookers are asked to keep an eye on the website for updates.
SEATING PLANS, PROGRAMMES & ACCESSIBILITY
Seating plans for each production can be viewed here. Please note, seating is unreserved for the Baroque Masterclass & Concert and Picnic Prom.
Programmes are available to purchase via cash or card at the events.
The Saddlespan Auditorium and St Mary’s Church are accessible for wheelchairs. If you, or any member of your party require particular seating or have access needs, please inform Bath Box Office when booking your tickets, to ensure we reserve the correct seating area for you.
DRESS CODE
Informality is a feature of If Opera, there is no dress code, and evening wear is not common. Most people choose to dress smart/casual.
Evenings can get chilly once the sun goes down so it is advisable to bring warm clothing for the end of the night.
The gardens landscape is uneven and thought should be given to adequate footwear – heels are not recommended!
UNDER 18’s GO FREE
A limited selection of free tickets are available for under 18’s. Offer applies to Carmen, The Chocolate Soldier and Baroque Drinking Songs productions.

Under 18’s must always be accompanied by someone over the age of 18 unless stated otherwise. Please see suitability details for each event.
LIMITATIONS
Dogs: No dogs are permitted except for assistance dogs.
Candles & Flares: Guests are welcome to bring ENCLOSED lighting rather than open flares. Once the sun has gone down there are certain parts of the garden that are difficult to light, torches are advised.
Recording: No photography, video or audio recording is permitted within the Saddlespan auditorium.
Mobile Phones: To be switched off during performances.
Rubbish: Guests must take all of their rubbish with them when they leave.
